Two-Day, Paper Eco-dying/printing Workshop
Make your own Journal
In this class you’ll learn the basics of making vegetable dyes to color paper and printing on paper using natural materials such as leaves, grasses, ferns and flowers. With the papers you dye in Class 1, you’ll put together a journal in Class 2. In making the journal you’ll learn about paper signatures, how to fold pockets and how to sew a simple pamphlet binding stitch. About the teacher, Ruthann Carr.
Carr is the co-owner of Presents of Nature. She’s been growing, pressing and making art out of flowers for more than 30 years. In the past 15 years Ruthann has dabbled in watercolor painting. She recently became interested in eco-dying and printing techniques. Ruthann has lived in Fluvanna for 16 years.
