Refund Policy regarding classes
Most of our classes run full. When you cancel within 24 hours of a class, you have prevented another member of our community from being able to enjoy the class. Furthermore, the teacher will have already received payment for the class. This is very inconsiderate. Therefore, we will not refund any amount for cancellations made within 24 hours of the class.
We reserve the right to cancel classes that do not have a minimum enrollment.
Tuition will be refunded if a class is cancelled by the teacher or the studio. Teachers will decide individually how to handle make-up classes if the teacher must cancel for medical or weather-related reasons.
Tuition will be refunded in full, only if requested 7 or more days in advance of the first class.
30% of tuition can be refunded within 6-2 days of class.
0% of tuition will be refunded within 24 hours of class start time.
The following circumstances will be considered for refund on a case-by-case basis: medical emergency of the student or immediate family member, a positive Covid, Flu or Strep test.
Refunds will not be given for missed classes.
Refund Policy regarding artist work
Returns and refunds of artist work is problematic. At the end each month, artists are issued a check for their sales. Once this has occurred it is impossible for the shop to issue a refund. Please choose carefully before making purchase.
Glazes
Glazes are expensive. Due to a sudden rise in glaze waste, we’ve had to change our procedure. No child under age 12 may pour their own glaze. Staff are happy to offer help, guidance, inspiration, and support to all guests as time allows.
Children
Children are welcome to accompany their responsible adult to paint (glaze) ceramics. Ceramic painting is best for children who can hold a paint brush independently and who are not tempted to put objects in their mouth. While our glazes are labeled non-toxic, they should not be ingested or inhaled. Running in the shop and studio is not permitted. Please keep children in their seats. Broken items will be added to the bill at check out.
Pottery Studio Policies
Courtesy
Please refrain from discussing hot topics while in the studio. This is a safe space for all people.
Please do not touch work that is not your own.
Do not take pictures of someone else’s artwork. All artwork is copywritten.
Clean up after yourself and return everything you have used to the place where you found it.
Health and Safety
No smoking is permitted in the Studio or on the grounds. No alcohol or illegal substances are permitted in the Studio or in the parking lot.
If you suffer from mold-related allergies, you may have problems with clay. Check with your doctor before signing up for a class.
To keep the Studio a healthy place for all of us to work in, please clean up your areas completely before you leave, including the floor where glazes have spilled or dripped. Clay and glazes should not be left to dry on any surface because they can become airborne dust. Airborne clay is hazardous to your health. Sanding dry clay or unfired glazed work is not permitted in the Studio. If you need to do so, take your work outside to sand and wear a mask. Masks are available for sale.
If you have long hair, you must wear it pulled back for wheel throwing.
It is a good idea to remove jewelry and watches or better yet, to leave them at home.
Be aware that long nails will make creating in clay nearly impossible. Chipped polish and press-on nails are downright dangerous.
We reserve the right to ask anyone who does not follow our rules and behave in a manner that is safe and respectful of others to withdraw from the course. Tuition will not be refunded when an individual’s behavior is unacceptable.
Photographs
We regularly take photographs of adults enjoying classes and studio time. Please let the staff know if you need your photo removed. We do not publish photos containing the faces of children.
